See You Soon Mr. McKernan

The first thing we had this week was our Kauri Whanau meeting on Wednesday afternoon!
The teachers announced the Whanau leader competition had begun, we started off with some nominees and then some speeches and on Friday, in our liturgy, we found out the leaders. Their names are Yvette and Andre.

During the same liturgy, Mr Mckernan announced that he was leaving school for the term, and that Mrs J (our DP) was going to be the principal for the rest of the term. As a suprise, we gave him a smily face lunchbox.

The First Week of 2012.

Welcome back to Room 18's blog for 2012!
We've got up to alot this week and it was only the first week; such as the powphiri on Tuesday and us learning about the Treaty of Waitangi.

On Friday, we had our first game of nonstop cricket for the year. It was a very exciting first game. There were some outs,some safes and some very crazy catches [go Cameron!]. Other than those things it was lots of fun!
