During Week 8 in Term 2, I brought my experiment to school. It was a coke and mentos explosion! I put four mentos into the coke bottle and stood well back to watch.
The coke bottle bubbled and exploded so quickly that if you even blinked, you would miss the whole thing. I found out that the highest explosion was 9 metres high! We didn't even get to half of a metre; but it was still fun to watch.
I don't exactly know why it explodes but my theory is that something in the mentos is -well I don't actually know what it's called but I do know that when you stick it in coke it EXPLODES!(Obviously) So if you want to try this make sure that you run away as fast as you can after you've put the mentos in.
